Rhythm of the Rails Board Meeting

Approval of minutes

            None to approve as no minutes from last meeting of the board at Darlene’s house

 

Treasurer’s report

            Current checking account balance is $837

            Brainerd Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce membership still due of $175.  Board agreed to have her pay

            C&I booth fee of $385, with ½ due soon.

            One advertising sale outstanding from Front Street Café for $150.  3 bills sent.  Board suggested Judy call to settle their

                        bill.

            Donation expected from Jaycees for volunteering for the Ice Fishing tourney, ?$.

 

Old business

            Jody talked to Lilah about finding someone to take on project as local contact in Jody’s absence.     

            Kart Country developer has reportedly gone before the county board.

            Initiative report grant: will get in next cycle ( 9/29?) as not ready to proceed

 

Facilities report

            Northern Pacific site experiencing new development, but have been assured of using space for the show this summer.

           

Fundraising report

            Lilah will draft a letter to be sent to businesses from Chamber of Commerce list to elicit support.

            Lee directed to put on hold any further followup for the Founding 50 until we have more info re: site.

 

New business

            Production plan: Tryouts set for 5/16, 5/18.  Will explore possibility of using Franklin for practices, costume storage?

                        10th anniversary theme

            Production budget: discussed new plan for advertising.  Will look at inserts for Brainerd Dispatch which would be

                        cheaper.

                        Jill will explore getting weather promo on KARE 11.

            C&I booth: Jill organizing

            Lee’s idea to update community and supporters with a “State of the Rhythm” news release and newsletter.
